Crystalline porous frameworks as nano-enhancers for membrane liquid separation – Recent developments

چکیده

The recent progress in the development of membrane materials expands applications and requirements for new, more stable, highly effective separation materials. One most interesting research directions is related to membranes containing metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic (COFs) either matrix or inside surface. addition these (macro)molecules makes it possible tune first material properties resistance then transport features, finally improving performance significantly. This article aims to: i) review structure characterization different MOFs COFs; ii) present experimental protocols MOF- or/and -COFs formation, iii) discuss their terms liquid separation. important representative studies each field will be comprehensively revised debated perspectives, await use as a reference scientists working associated areas. In end, summary future perspectives on utilization MOF-/COF-containing membranes, including also niche applications, presented.
